ADIDAS - THE LABEL WITH THE THREE STRIPS
More than 70 years ago, the first steps of the now world-famous sporting goods manufacturer began in a small, old laundry room in Germany. The adidas company from Herzogenaurach was founded in 1949 by the Dassler brothers and is developing into one of the most important brands in the world. The historical development began with the production of individually fitted sports shoes for soccer players and athletes. With the innovative idea of attaching studs to shoes, professional athletes at the Olympic Games were equipped with the then well-known Dassler shoes. With the opening of the first shoe factory by Adi Dassler in 1949 and the patent application for the brand name adidas and the famous three stripes, the foundation for a successful future was laid. With the classic Adidas Superstar in leather, the German brand was able to establish itself in the American basketball league in 1969. This was followed by other iconic models such as the Stan Smith 1971, the Adilette 1972 and many more. The sporty shoes not only generated great success on the playing field, but were already extremely popular in everyday life back then.
