A KIND OF GUISE - THE MUNICH LABEL
The Munich label was founded in 2009 by two fashion students at the time. They literally found their inspiration on the side of the road. On a trip to the for the people of Munich famous Lago di Monaco, the two students spotted a wooden box with leather leftovers on the roadside. Back at their home sewing machine they created a simple leather bag that attracted a lot of attention in public places. At that time, it was not possible to foresee that years later a successful label would develop from leather leftovers found at the roadside. In the meantime, the two founders of A Kind of Guise distribute their products worldwide in about 90 boutiques and department stores as well as in two own stores in Munich and Berlin.



A KIND OF GUISE - HIGH-QUALITY MATERIALS AND HIGH-QUALITY CRAFTSMANSHIP

A Kind of Guise began as a small project to create a range of timeless and durable fashion items. The project focused on combining modern tailoring techniques, high-quality German craftsmanship and the highest quality materials. Since their first line came into stores in 2009, they have experimented with a wide range of high quality wool, cashmere, silk, tweed and even teddy bear pelts. Previous collections included fabrics such as Scottish Harris tweed, Swiss EtaProof cotton, Austrian loden-Steiner wool, Steiff furs, luxurious Japanese silks and many other materials. The label uses only ethically produced materials, mostly sourced from Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom. The use of these durable and luxurious fabrics is just one reason why A Kind of Guise products have such a high quality feel and look. During this time the label has been able to establish strong relationships with 16 small and medium-sized specialist manufacturers in and around Germany. The careful selection of the manufacturing partners, who have an extraordinary craftsmanship and partly centuries of know-how, shows once again the great dedication to their products.
